About Us:
Our client is a leading first-tier family law firm with an outstanding reputation for providing expert legal advice and representation in all areas of family law. Their team is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients in what are often highly sensitive and complex matters. They are now looking for an experienced Senior Family Lawyer to join their team and play a key role in their firm’s succession plan.

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned family lawyer to step into a leadership role, contributing to the continued growth of the practice while enjoying strong career progression and the chance to become part of the firm’s long-term future.

The Role:
As a Senior Family Lawyer, you will handle a broad range of high-profile and complex family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, parenting disputes, child protection issues, and prenuptial agreements. You will manage your own caseload while mentoring and supporting junior lawyers and assisting with the strategic direction of the practice.

This is not just a senior position; it’s a long-term career opportunity where you will be actively involved in the firm’s succession planning and have the chance to step into a leadership position. You will work closely with the Partners to continue building the firm’s reputation for excellence and ensuring that they remain the go-to family law firm for clients across Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients in complex family law matters, including divorce, property settlements, and child custody issues.
  • Manage your own caseload, ensuring clients receive timely, practical, and empathetic legal services.
  • Lead and mentor junior lawyers, providing guidance and support to develop their skills and careers.
  • Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts, including identifying new client opportunities and building strong, lasting client relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Partners on the strategic direction of the family law practice, including identifying and implementing growth opportunities.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, court hearings, and trials as required.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the firm through participation in firm-wide initiatives and leadership in family law matters.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
  • At least 7 years of post-qualification experience in family law, with a proven track record in managing complex matters.
  • Extensive experience in all areas of family law, including property settlements, parenting disputes, financial agreements, and divorce.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide junior lawyers and support their development.
  • A demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and outcomes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills, with the ability to represent clients effectively in court or other forums.
  • A proactive, strategic approach to legal practice and business development.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with the Partners and other team members.
  • A desire to be part of a long-term succession plan and take on greater leadership responsibility in the future.

What's on Offer:
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Clear pathways for career progression and the opportunity to be part of the firm’s succession plan.
  • A supportive, dynamic work environment with a focus on work-life balance.
  • The opportunity to work on high-profile, complex family law matters for a wide range of clients.
  • A strong team culture with ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including the option for hybrid or remote work.
  • The chance to shape the future of the firm’s family law practice and leave a lasting legacy.

How to Apply:
If you are a Senior Family Lawyer with a passion for delivering excellent client outcomes and a desire to be part of an exciting long-term growth plan, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your experience, career goals, and why you are interested in this opportunity.
