Our Client Our client is a prestigious, full-service corporate and commercial law firm with a strong global presence, known for their expertise in delivering high-quality legal services across a diverse range of industries. Their office is expanding, and they are seeking a talented and motivated Lawyer to join their growing Litigation & Insolvency practice. This is a unique opportunity to work on complex and high-profile matters for top-tier clients.

The Role As a Lawyer in their Litigation & Insolvency team, you will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers, advising clients on a range of contentious matters with a particular focus on insolvency, and restructuring. You will be involved in both contentious and non-contentious work, including receiverships, liquidations, and distressed M&A matters.

You will gain exposure to interesting and complex cases, allowing you to develop your skills while contributing to the success of the practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with managing and advising on complex insolvency and restructuring matters.
  • Draft pleadings, submissions, and other legal documents in insolvency proceedings.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution processes.
  • Provide timely and strategic advice to clients on risk management, commercial negotiations, and dispute resolution.
  • Work closely with clients, providing proactive and practical solutions to their legal challenges.
  • Support the Partners in the preparation and strategy of major insolvency matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent client service.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the firm on cross-border and multi-disciplinary matters.
About You
  • A qualified lawyer with at least 5 years’ post-admission experience (and up to 8 years) in insolvency, or a related area of law.
  • Solid experience working on complex insolvency, and restructuring matters.
  • Strong technical legal skills, with an ability to deliver clear and concise advice to clients.
  • Experience in both contentious and non-contentious aspects of insolvency and restructuring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to legal challenges.
  • Team-oriented, with a commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
  • Admission to practice in Western Australia (or eligible to be admitted).
