This firm is committed to providing compassionate and expert legal support to clients facing various family-related issues. They are renowned for handling complex family law matters with an extensive referral network given their reputation. Job description: You will play a pivotal role in assisting their clients in navigating complex family law matters. You will work closely with their team of experienced family lawyers to provide legal counsel and representation to individuals facing issues such as divorce, child custody, spousal maintenance, property, and other family-related disputes. Responsibilities: Legal Consultation: Provide legal advice and consultation to clients, helping them understand their rights, responsibilities, and legal options in family law cases. Case Management: Handle a diverse caseload of family law files, including divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and property matters. Client Representation: Represent clients in Family Court proceedings in Perth, participate in and manage mediation sessions (depending on experience), and negotiate settlements to protect their best interests within the Family Court framework. Client Communication: Maintain regular and clear communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their matter and addressing concerns. Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with other lawyers within the firm to develop effective legal strategies and solutions. Continuing Education: Stay updated on changes to legislation, precedents, and case law to ensure the provision of up-to-date legal counsel. Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a valid Western Australian legal practicing certificate.
- 1 to 20+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in family law practice in Australia, with a proven track record of handling family law cases.
- Strong knowledge of family law regulations, and court procedures.
- Exceptional analytical, research, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to empathise with clients during challenging times.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Ethical conduct, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
